Raleigh and Cary Senior Portrait Photographer
May 20 | Evan | No Comments |A week early but Congratulations to the Class of 2017 from Cary Academy! This year’s class was as fun to photograph as any pervious class and not only introduced me to new families but also reconnected with families from previous high school senior portrait sessions. While senior portrait season is by far my busiest time of year, it’s by far my favorite (well besides the hot and humid weather) time of year! Photographing high school seniors and capturing this moment in time for them and the families of the graduating seniors is a special experience and very grateful I have the opportunity to do so for close to 10 years now! Though I have to admit, knowing that some of the high school seniors I have photographed from 6th grade or earlier doesn’t exactly make me want to count the years. Thank you to all the seniors and families over the years and looking forward to senior portrait sessions for the class of 2018!
Cary Portrait Photographer | Rebecca
Jan 10 | Evan | No Comments |For Rebecca’s portrait session, we met at a lovely little park in Cary and had such a great time! I set up the session as a way to train a new assistant, and Rebecca was the perfect model for the job. She was so laid back and up for anything—including several treks through brush and lying on the ground for unique shots. Check out the images from her portrait session below!

Cary Pet Photographer | Caesar
May 12 | Evan | No Comments |Even though he looks quite calm in the images from his pet portrait session, Caesar was a puppy full of energy. I love dogs so I thoroughly enjoy any time I get to photograph them, and I really enjoyed meeting this little guy! Check out the images from his pet portrait session below!

Cary Family Portrait Photographer | Jillian
May 10 | Evan | No Comments |For Jillian’s first birthday, I talked her mother into a family portrait session that included something I wanted to try… a “cake smash!” They had a beautiful and even more delicious cake made by Trilogy Edibles. It was so cute how Jillian’s face lit up with excitement as soon as she saw that small pink cake just for her, and it was even cuter when she smeared it all over her little face! Check out the images from her first birthday cake smash below!

Cary Portrait Photographer | Alex
May 08 | Evan | No Comments |I had previously met Alex while photographing Ian’s Bar Mitzvah and thought she would be perfect to collaborate with to help prepare my assistant for senior portrait season. The portrait session went great as she was a natural behind the camera and my assistant could learn what I would need for senior portrait sessions! It seemed like every image I took of her was incredible so it was hard to choose our favorites. She had a great time at her portrait session, and I really enjoyed working with her, so don’t be surprised if she shows up again…Check out a few of the images from her portrait session below!

Durham Portrait Photographer | Leo
Apr 10 | Evan | No Comments |I had been looking forward to Leo’s sports portrait session since I heard the details of what his mother had in mind—fencing portraits! This meant heading to his fencing club, Mid-South Fencers’ Club in Durham for his portrait session. The fencing club itself made for a great background to take portraits as it had lot’s of character (note to self, potential location for some future Durham senior portait sessions). Like I would have been at his age (or even now), Leo was a little uneasy about having his portrait made at first, but he soon warmed up and did a great job. He even taught me a little about fencing, for example, the fencer’s sword isn’t actually called a sword—it’s a sabre. I really enjoyed documenting Leo’s incredible talent, which recently he earned some national points at a tournament with! Check out the images from his portrait session below!

Raleigh Portrait Photographer | Erika
Jun 21 | Evan | No Comments |I was lucky enough to work with Erika on two different portrait sessions. She is in college now, but told me she actually never got around to having senior portraits done, so these photos will kind of count as her high school senior portrait photographs. She is also, starting her career as a model so in addition to the photos kind of counting as senior portraits we were hoping to come away with photos to expand her portfolio. I’ve worked with my fair share of models and Erika was as professional and easy to work with as they come. Not to mention very considerate and a wonderful communicator. It was a pleasure being her portrait photographer and am looking forward to seeing her career as a model reach great heights!

2013 Raleigh Senior Portrait Photographer | Kjersti
Jun 19 | Evan | No Comments |Even though the weather had other plans for my 2013 high school senior portrait sessions, I was finally able to photograph my first high school senior of the class of 2013! Between Kjersti and my other few seniors scheduled in May, I had to reschedule about 9 senior portrait session because of the weather! No problem though and ended up with a perfect day, much cooler than when I photographed her sister a few years ago when she was a senior, for senior portrait photography. Kjersti is a wonderful dancer and her beauty and gracefulness surely showed through in her photo session! After growing up with my sister dancing, I’ve always found it interesting how dancers, even when they are just walking, seem to have no wasted movements and look so graceful even when they are just walking! It was a perfect portrait session to start out my 2013 high school senior portrait sessions and I could say more, but theses senior portraits say it for me!

Raleigh Senior Portrait Photographer | Quinn
Dec 15 | Evan | 1 Comment |Quinn’s senior portrait session was a lot of fun! We had a blast and came away with some great senior portrait photos. I’ve said it before, some seniors are just naturals infront of the camera and when they are like Quinn, it makes my job as a senior portrait photographer easy!

Raleigh Senior Portrait Photographer | Olivia
Dec 13 | Evan | No Comments |Our first appointment for Olivia’s senior portraits got delayed because of some hurricane or tropical storm that decided to send Durham a lot of rain and wind. No matter, the second day we picked out turned out to be a beautiful day for a senior portrait session. With mom and sister along for the ride, Olivia had a nice team helping her out at Duke Gardens. She did a wonderful job and we came away with some stunning senior portraits!

Raleigh Senior Portrait Photographer | Noah
Dec 11 | Evan | No Comments |I was excited to be Noah’s senior portrait photographer after hearing what he wanted to do. I love photographing seniors on location but was looking forward to having part of his senior portrait in the studio and part on the baseball field. I knew we would come away with some awesome photos for his senior portraits…. Which we did and I gotta be a little more artistic than normal which is always fun!

Raleigh Senior Portrait Session | Nick
Dec 09 | Evan | No Comments |Nick did an awesome job during his senior portrait session. Like most high school senior guys, I could tell he wasn’t super excited about having senior photos done, but he did a great job and I had a lot of fun being his senior portrait photographer!

Raleigh Senior Portrait Photographer | Jeremy
Dec 07 | Evan | No Comments |Some seniors, like Jeremy, are just immediately naturals infront of the camera. Every shot seemed to come out great! Even though he is part of the blue eye club like me, while editing the photos from his senior portrait session, I particularly liked the way the black and white photos came out. Awesome senior portrait session!

Raleigh Senior Portrait Photographer | Jarrod
Dec 05 | Evan | No Comments |After just a few minutes into his senior portrait session, Jarrod was a natural. I know mom likes when I can get a nice smile, but the serious senior portraits we came away, especially like the one above, with were great!
